Keeping safe with Monkey Bob is a short video designed to help young children stay safe if they’re frightened because the grown ups in their household are fighting.

The video starts with Monkey Bob hiding in the garden, explains why he’s hiding – and how he’s feeling – and watches Monkey Bob work through his emotions.

Before he figures out what to do, Monkey Bob recalls some important lessons he learnt from family members and his nursery teacher:

“It’s never a child’s fault when grown ups are arguing or fighting.”

“It’s not my job to look after grown ups. I need to keep myself safe.”

“It’s never ok for you to be hurt or frightened by anyone – even in your family.”
